How it works

From sign-in to
prize-giving.

Everything CaddiePro does on a tournament day, in the order it happens. Each chapter shows who does the work, what they see, and the rules the app enforces along the way.

Organiser
Sets up the event, confirms handicaps, opens and closes rounds.
Marker
Scores the 4-ball hole by hole and submits when there's signal.
Player
Follows the board, signs their own card, checks their balance.
Spectator
Opens the public link or watches the clubhouse TV. No login.
01Everyone

Get your team in.

Everything in CaddiePro belongs to a team: your society, club or company. Sign in, then create a team or join one from your dashboard with a team code or Google. Each member has a role in the team that decides what they can do.

Organiser
Creates tournaments, courses and groups. Confirms handicaps between rounds, moves rounds live and closed, corrects scores, reopens cards, moderates banter, sets up wagers and sponsors. Organisers also play and score.
Marker
Captures scores for everyone in their 4-ball and records nearest the pin and longest drive.
Player
Sees their tournaments, group and tee time, follows the leaderboards, signs their own card, countersigns a group-mate’s, and checks what they owe or are owed.
Spectator
Watches the public leaderboard and the TV board. No account needed.
02Organiser

Set up a tournament in five steps.

The setup wizard walks you through the whole event. Nothing is live until you launch it, and rounds that haven't started can still be changed afterwards.

1
Tournament details
Name, dates, scoring format and which sub-competitions are on.
2
Courses & rounds
One course per round, each with its own tee (Yellow, White, Blue or Red), rating and slope.
3
Players
Pick from your member library, add players, or import a spreadsheet. An entry HC cap can be set.
4
4-ball groups
Draw the groups, set tee times or a shotgun start, and mark who keeps score in each.
5
Review & launch
Check everything on one page, then launch. Players see it on their dashboard.

Scoring formats you can pick

Individual
Modified Stableford
Points per hole: max(0, par − nett + 2). Eagle 4, birdie 3, par 2, bogey 1, double+ 0.
Stableford
Standard WHS Stableford. Net double bogey+ = 0, bogey = 1, par = 2, birdie = 3, eagle = 4.
Stroke Play — Nett
Lowest total nett strokes wins. Full stroke allowance applied per hole.
Stroke Play — Gross
Lowest total gross strokes wins. No handicap adjustment.
Bogey / Par Competition
Win, halve, or lose each hole against par using nett score. Final result = W − L.
Match Play
Head-to-head bracket. Win/halve/lose holes. Player ahead by more holes than remain wins.
Team — 2 ball
Better Ball (4BBB)
Partners each play their own ball. Best nett score of the two counts per hole.
Foursomes (Alternate Shot)
Two partners share one ball, alternating shots. Team HC = (HC1 + HC2) ÷ 2.
Greensomes
Both partners drive, choose the best drive, then alternate. Team HC = 0.6 × lower + 0.4 × higher.
Chapman / Pinehurst
Both drive, each plays partner's ball, choose best, then alternate. Team HC = 0.6 × lower + 0.4 × higher.
Team — 4 ball
Scramble (Texas Scramble)
All 4 play from the best shot each time. Each player must contribute ≥ 4 drives. Team HC = 10% of combined.
American Scramble
All 4 drive, best drive selected, then each plays their own ball. Best score of the 4 on each hole counts. Team HC = combined ÷ 8.
Best Drive — Par 4 & 5
Par 3s: fully individual. Par 4s & 5s: all 4 drive, best drive chosen, then each plays their own ball from there. Scores are individual throughout.
Ambrose
Scramble with team handicap applied to the total score. Team HC = combined ÷ 8.
Side Game
Skins
Each hole worth 1 skin. Lowest nett wins it outright; ties carry to the next hole.
Stableford Skins
Skins on Stableford points. Highest points on a hole wins the skin; ties carry.
03Organiser

Handicaps, recalculated every round.

A player's playing handicap is worked out fresh for each round, from their HNA index and that round's course and tee. With day-by-day adjustment switched on for the tournament, the previous round's Stableford score then adjusts it from round 2 on.

Step 1 · Base HC
round(Index × Slope/113 + (Rating − Par))

The WHS Course Handicap for the round's course and the player's own tee (ladies play off Red). On a 9-hole card it's half the index, with the 9-hole rating and par. Never carried over from the day before.

Step 2 · Adjustment
> 34 ptscut ⌊(pts − 34) × 0.5⌋< 24 ptsadd (24 − pts)24–34no change

9-hole rounds are doubled to an 18-hole equivalent first.

Step 3 · Confirm
The organiser confirms between rounds.

Only after the previous round is completed and before the next one starts — with a preview of every number first. A round from day 2 can't go live until its handicaps are confirmed.

Cut formula
⌊(39−34)×0.5⌋

−2 shots
Round 2 HC
18 − 2 = 16
  • No comparable score — withdrawn, an incomplete card, or a team format — means no adjustment.
  • Plus handicaps give strokes back on the easiest holes, as WHS requires.
  • Every confirmation is saved to the handicap audit: index, base HC, previous points, adjustment, who confirmed it and when.
04Marker

Score on the course, with or without signal.

The marker opens their group's scorecard on any phone. One screen per hole shows all four players with +/− steppers.

  1. 1
    Tap in the gross score
It's saved on the phone immediately, and the Stableford points appear next to each player.
  2. 2
    Record NTP and longest drive
On the holes the organiser switched on, from the ⋯ menu on the hole screen.
  3. 3
    Submit when you like
The Submit button shows how many holes are waiting. Send after every hole, at the turn, or at the 19th — anything still waiting goes by itself when signal returns. If another phone changed the same hole, you choose whose score stands.

05Player & marker

Sign the card, lock the result.

Like a paper card, a card is signed by its player and countersigned by someone else in the group. Until every card is signed, the money settlement is shown as provisional.

Player
Signs their own card
Available once every hole is scored. They can withdraw their signature until it's countersigned.
Group-mate
Countersigns
Usually the marker; anyone else in the group can do it — never on their own card.
Signed
Only the organiser can change it
Once a card is signed, players and markers can’t change its scores. An organiser’s correction clears the signatures, so the card is signed again. Every change is audited.
06Everyone

Leaderboards that move while you play.

Every submit updates every connected screen straight away. Players who’ve only sent part of their card show as "Thru 9" or similar.

Where people watch
Public link. Share it with anyone; no login.
Clubhouse TV. A fullscreen 16:9 board with a live ticker and sub-comp rail.
Commentary & banter. When switched on, birdies and NTP leaders post themselves; players can chat, and organisers can remove messages.
Sponsors on the board
Title. “Presented by” on the public board, TV and match board.
Hole. Next to their holes and NTP / LD results on the TV.
Supporting. Rotates in the TV sponsor strip.
07Organiser

Open and close each round.

Every round moves through three states. The app stops changes that would rewrite results already in play.

Upcoming
Course, tee and groups can still change. Handicaps are confirmed here.
Live
Only one round is live at a time. Once a round has started, its course, tee, ratings and format are frozen.
Completed
Scores and NTP / LD are final; only an organiser can correct them. It can't be reopened once the next round has started.
08Organiser & player

Wagers and settlement, worked out for you.

Add the day's bets in rand before the round starts. CaddiePro works out who owes whom from the scores, and each player sees their own balance.

Entry fee
Each player pays a flat buy-in. The organiser hands out the prizes.
NTP pot
Each player contributes per nearest-the-pin hole; the last recorded winner on a hole takes that hole’s pot.
Longest drive pot
Each player contributes per longest-drive hole; the last recorded winner on a hole takes that hole’s pot.
Skins pot
A fixed pot split in proportion to skins won (highest nett Stableford on a hole; ties carry).
Birdie pot
For every nett birdie (×1) or nett eagle or better (×2), the scorer collects the amount from every other player.
Nassau
Front 9, back 9 and overall bets, settled within each group on nett Stableford points.
Two clubs
For every nett Stableford point above the threshold (36 by default) in a round, the scorer collects from each other player.
  • A wager that pays on results locks once a round it pays on has started. Labels stay editable; the entry fee never locks.
  • When a tournament uses card sign-off, the settlement stays provisional until every card it depends on is signed.
09Optional

Turn it into a Ryder Cup.

Split the field into two sides, choose which rounds are match rounds, and each group becomes one match between its side A and side B players.
